Step into History with l’Escalade!
Join me, Mère Royaume, a humble mother, and unexpected heroine of Geneva’s most legendary night – l’Escalade of 1602. In this immersive guided tour, we step back into the daily life of Genevans at the turn of the 17th century. What did we eat? How did we work, worship, learn, and lived?
As we walk through the heart of old Geneva, I’ll share stories of our food traditions, family life, professions, schooling, and tensions of the time. You’ll discover what it meant to live in a fortified Protestant republic surrounded by powerful Catholic enemies.
This tour is educational and bring history to life through storytelling, historical facts, and the unique perspective of a woman who became a symbol of courage with nothing more than a pot of hot soup.
Come experience Geneva as it was in 1602 — through the eyes of Mère Royaume herself.
